Reflective Practice Using 7-eyed Model course

Reflective Practice Using 7-eyed Model course

About the Course

Reflective Practice Using the 7-Eyed Model offers you a practical, structured way to deepen your professional insight and resilience.

By learning to view your work through seven distinct lenses—ranging from the client’s experience to your own responses, relational dynamics, and the wider systemic context—you will gain fresh perspectives that enhance decision-making, strengthen client relationships, and reduce the risk of burnout.

This training equips you with a versatile reflective tool that goes beyond supervision, empowering you to make sense of complex cases, grow in self-awareness, and sustain your effectiveness in the demanding environment of social service agencies.

Course Objectives

By the end of this training, participants will be able to:

  • Deconstruct the 7-Eyed Model into a practical, solo-reflection framework for daily casework.

  • Identify hidden “blind spots” by systematically shifting between the seven lenses, from client data to personal emotional responses.

  • Cultivate an “Internal Supervisor” to sharpen clinical intuition and maintain professional objectivity outside of formal supervision.

  • Analyse systemic influences—including organizational policies and cultural contexts—to better understand their impact on the client-worker relationship.

  • Mitigate compassion fatigue by recognizing “parallel processes” and emotional triggers before they lead to burnout.

  • Apply the framework to active cases to generate fresh interventions and move past professional “stuckness.”
